Popped in for lunch en route back to Cardiff from Abersoch. We were warmly welcomed by the owner and he looked after us very well during our lunch. Fairly standard pub fayre, well presented and nicely cooked. Thanks.

We were looking for a quiet place in central Wales, close in to a village so we could stop driving so much and this was perfect. It's a bit worn and eccentric but what do you expect in a small village in Wales? If you want a Holiday Inn, this is not it. Off-season, so there were only a couple...

At £30 per person seems a bit steep ( over £60 for a double room)
Place was friendly and clean and comfy beds, nice bar excellent beer.
Llandiloes was odd though, on a friday everything seemed to close at 10pm. Leaving one pub and a kebab shop open.
But in all a nice place to stay friendly people, great beer....

We called to see whether they were open for lunch and were warmly welcomed. (We had called there a couple of weeks ago and sadly they had an unexpected problem and were unable to serve us ... such a shame as the only place that was open in Llanidloes that day served a pretty poor meal with an indifferent attitude.)...

Stayed here overnight whilst on a cycling trip with friends. The rooms are all in a block across the car park from the main pub but are OK. Reasonably spacious with a decent bathroom. The 3 things I'd say against it were:

My friend had arranged that we could call early before we set off to drive to Rhyd-y-benwch picnic area to park and then walk to the source of the River Severn and back but our reception at this time was not the most welcoming! Fortunately when we returned it was much nicer but we did have concerns through the day!...

I was racing my motorbike at the nearby Sweet Lamb complex and needed somewhere nearby. Offroad parking was good. Receptionist was pleasant, friendly and helpful. I had room number 6 which was good size. TV was ancient but worked OK so no problem. Breakfast was not served until 8.00am so had to miss this as it was too late.

We stayed here for one night as we travelled through Wales recently. We stumbled upon this lovely wee hotel and were overall pleased with our stay. Our room was nice and big and although the decor may be a bit dated, everything was spotlessly clean with lovely crisp white linen. We were made to feel very welcome by everyone. Yes,...

We arrived here on sat night about 7pm, we had booked 2 single rooms and were both put in twin rooms, both were clean and tidy, one with shower & one with bath. Furnishings were a little basic but linen was all fresh and clean. Breakfast was excellent although only available for a short time window on 08:00-8:30
We had three days here and wish it could have been longer. I felt we had to write a review as the negative ones I read were certainly not our experience. Our room was very comfortable, spotless, as was the bathroom. Towels changed daily, tea and biscuits replenished.Comfortable beds, very quiet at night.Breakfast was whatever one wanted and of good...
