Welcoming family. Host very well informed about area and possible walks. Great views over Kullu valley. Great hill walks, some to interesting villages. Much better (quieter, less touristy, closer to walks, closer to 'real' local life) than Kullu or Manali which are only 60 or so minute bus rides away. Highly recommended.
