We stayed here for one night on our Hadrian's Cycleway tour. Our bikes were safely stowed in the blink of an eye, the room was lovely, the breakfast was delicious, the WIFI was dependable and fast. Highly recommended.

Vallum Lodge was one of the best stays on our 6 day walk of the Hadrian's Wall Path. The lodge is very much targeted at walkers, featuring a boot drying area and plenty of drying space in the room. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was one of the best we had on the trip. The...

sorry, but compared to our best accommodation during our two weeks in the uk we only grant 5 stars once. and that's done already. nevertheless we'd appreciate the b&b service with very friendly and helpful landlady. room size was nearly sufficient for our big suitcases. chicken didn't disturb at all and helped to gain access for the complimentary wifi ;-)

Great food.
A shop area - offering postcards, Hadrian's Wall T shirts, toiletries & other gear is a very useful facility !
Highly recommended !

In common with most other guests I visited whilst walking the Hadrian's Wall Path. The weather was foul, so I arrived very wet, very could and fairly tired. A wonderful welcome quickly overcame any...

I left Hadrian's Wall Path on a late afternoon in October 2011, walked to Twice Brewed, then walked another 1000 yards down the Military Road to Vallum Lodge, my lodging for the night. What a great find. The young owners and their two young daughters were friendly, helpful, and welcoming. My room was terrific and the breakfast the following morning...
