I have stayed there alone during winter just a month ago, and it was of good value. if travelling via keisei skyliner from Narita, its just about 5 mins walk away , 10 mins if you are with luggage. an extra 3-5 mins to the JR lines and subways . left my luggage there since it was before check in... This is an old-school business hotel... renovated, comfortable, well-located, but old-school. The building must be around 30-40 years old, but the front looks out over Shinobazunoike (Ueno Park's lotus-covered pond), which is a great view. The lobby is gloomy and a bit cramped, but respectable. Check-in was efficient, and as usual in a business hotel, you pre-pay. The room was... More

The hotel is 5 minutes walk from Ueno JR and Keisei station. We booked a japanese style room. It was clean and wide, compared to Japanese Hotel's standard. It's a pity it faced the back side of the hotel, with a view over Ueno's roofs and Tokyo's crows, not the Park's pond. No non-smiking japanese style room were available. Nevertheless... More

This restaurant is a perfectly pleasant place to stay, and is very convenient, being a block or so away from the Keisei Ueno train station (to catch the express from Narita Airport), the JR Ueno Station (to catch the trains and subways all around Tokyo), the Ameyoko Markets (which are adjacent to Ueno station), as well as Ueno Park itself... Very good hotel overlooking Ueno park and only 5-7 mins walk from Ueno Metro station so a very good location to explore Tokyo via the metro system. Staff were friendly, spoke good English and were very polite. My standard room was very comfortable and a good size with a very decent en suite with bath/shower. The rooms seemed a littel... More

My husband and I visited Japan for the first time on our honeymoon in May 2010. We moved around a bit and stayed at different locations, with the first being the Hotel Park Side in Ueno. This was a great choice for first timers. It is very close to the train station (including access to the all-important Yamanoate line that... More

We came to explore and enjoy the local culture and sights. Our host Shree did not disappoint. He went out of his way to ensure our group had a great experience. The hotel was comfortable without being lavish. The staff were very welcoming and the hospitality great. Thebuffet meals were most enjoyable and the dining atmosphere relaxed. The jungle exploration... More

location- unbeatable. Ueno is perfect from the airport, central enough to travel around Tokyo. Ueno is a shopper's paradise. reception and service- very polite, organised and helpful. when my room internet connection was having problems, the receptionist ( after a few bows) rushed out of reception and went to my room. asked permission if he can fix the PC. very... I chose this hotel because this was my first visit to Tokyo. Friends had recommended Ueno as a great neighbourhood with fantastic museums, and so it proved to be. I booked the hotel on their own website; the rates were very reasonable. The situation is perfect: a short walk from the Ueno Skyliner Keisei station which has a direct connection... More
