This was a decent place to stay in Tokyo. We didn't have much choice as everything else was fully booked. The room was clean and had all the amenities you'd expect. It urgently needs an upgrade though because the decor feels very much 1980s. Also it seems to cater to a mostly Japanese clientele making it a bit difficult for... More

I stayed at the Rihga Royal because I was attending a conference here; if I were booking my own accommodation in Tokyo I would not stay here. The property itself is actually OK, but the details are a let-down: - Gym access costs $30 and only opens at 7am - Breakfast only starts at 7am - Staff speak very little... More

Had booked this hotel a while back and had read some reviews of it on here before going away, so I was a bit nervous about what some of the reviews said. As soon as we pulled up the hotel in the taxi the staff were more than happy to help us with our bags, take them to the check... More

This is an excellent hotel if your only desire is a wonderful room. After that it quickly goes downhill. Staff have very basic English skills, Internet is an add-on and there is NO wifi at all in the hotel. There is no onsite printing capability so if you need paper boarding pass you are out of luck. Gym facility is... More

I like this hotel because it is quiet and fairly priced. Rooms are good, we are in Japan and it is very clean. The area is very safe. I didn't eat at the hotel because of the prices. I would recommend it to travellers with some time at their disposal.

I usually come to Shinjuku for work and in the past I had a hard time to find an hotel with rooms which could give me a little more space for living. This hotel has reasonably sized rooms so I come here all the time. Yes, it's not located right into the underground station but who cares? 5 minutes walk... More

I have gone back to this hotel as promised. I could repeat exactly the same words as last year, but there are two aspects which I would like to mention here: - breakfast remains incredibly expensive and buffet is not as rich as last year: almost no fruit. - there are many smaller but cheaper eating places behind the hotel... I must say I really enjoyed this hotel: excellent staff and incredible service. The rooms are huge according to Tokyo standards, and not too expensive if booked through Expedia or similar services. Of course everything is ultra-clean according to Japanese standards, but the building could use here and there a spot of paint. The lobby is impressive, and the interior... More

Disappointing hotel if location is important - states as being in Shinjuku but is most definitely not in the hub of things. The hotel offers a shuttle service from the nearest JR station but this only work from 9am to 9pm - there is NOTHING around the hotel and a taxi from the nearest station is 2000 yen -if you... More

I stayd at the Rihga Royal Tokyo for three nights. My room was very nice, quite large and very clean. The beds were comfortable (not too soft) and the room was quiet. Good breakfast, very nice and helpful staff. Hotel offers a free of charge shuttle bus to the next station where you can find a shopping center and many... More
