The hotel is 15minutes walking distance from the East exit of Shinjuku station. It's not that easy to find at first so print out a google map before you go. I went with a colleague and we both felt it offered good value for money. They offer a hotdog for breakfast(!) so you may want to breakfast elsewhere. The bed... More

Hotel is great with friendly staff. Rooms are nice for its standard but please take note that is quite a long walk from the main station Shinjuku, 10-15minutes walk. More

Whilst the hotel is located in Shinjuku's red light district, it is also surrounded by numerous bars and restaurants, and is a reasonable ten minute walk from the main station. On arrival, we chose to take a taxi to the hotel (only a short 5 - 7 minute ride) and on departure, with a little more confidence about our route-finding,... More

The hotel is located right behind the Shinjuku's "Kabukicho" red-light district. The area is considered rather messy & complicated, with many bars & clubs, and of course more drunken people. And the hotel is located in the 'Love Hotel' area where you will see rooms available for 'hourly rental. The location is not great because it's rather 'hidden' from the... More

This was the firts Hotel where I stayed during my stay in Japan. It was amazing to feel that I was in such a vibrant neighborhood. Great located, near the JR to go to the airport, to anywhere in the city. Restaurants, clubs, stores, convenient stores, markets, supermarkets, Shopping malls, everything is just there! The street is quite but it... More

My husband and I stayed here in March 2011, a few days after the earthquake. The hotel wasn't busy (we saw only 2 other guests in 5 days) The staff were very reassuring about the situation in Tokyo (the nuclear situation!), and allowed us to use the internet free to keep in touch with family back home. The rooms were... More

Booked this hotel based on the great comments here. It was my first time to travel to Japan, and I saw the popular reasonable priced hotel, from their pictures, they seemed old-fashioned and very small, so I was very hesitant. The hotel is just a little bit hard to find, it's not as hard as other people say if you... More

Very nice simple hotel without any excessive luxury. We stayed here for two nights and we had a nice room with a very nice Japanese style bathtub. Even though the rooms are small, which they might be in any other place as well, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast we got served in our room was quite tasty... More

The Villa Fontaine is an easy hotel for a short stay in one of Tokyo's busiest spots, with fast accessibility to the rest of the inner city. The hotel itself is no-frills - no onsite restaurant, no room service, a very basic breakfast that you eat in your room. There's no sense of the hotel pampering you. On the other... More
