It was a nice surprise to find this quiet place in the middle of Tokyo. It is very conveniently located from two subway stations in the center of Tokyo but the property is in a quiet neighbourhood and has a beautiful Japanese garden. The view from the balcony also includes the Tokyo tower in the back. The room I stayed... More

I Stayed during my vacation. I enjoyed the beautiful gardens, friendly staff, Diner is generous, with many choices and fresh ingredients. Rooms are small and spartan, the interior design plain, I just do our own thing and enjoy every day. Good value, great location, I WILL be back in Feb 2012 More

Stayed during a conference. Greatly enjoyed the beautiful gardens, friendly, bilingual staff, convenient internet access and global clientele. Breakfast is generous, with many choices and fresh ingredients. Rooms are small and spartan, the interior design plain, and the lounge closes early, so it's not for everyone. But since the hotel caters to academics, limited distraction has its purpose. More

Wedding for a friend, they organized the location, they booked it for us. We just arrived. Having lived in Japan before I was hit with a wave of nostalgia. Very pleasant! The rooms are typically Japanese in compactness, but of course everything is functional and the lack of space does not mean that their is not a dedicated ironing room,... More

This is a very nice hotel with spacious double rooms and a stunning garden. Our room had sliding doors that went to a balcony overlooking the garden. Ditto everything another reviewer, Karabiber, said with the exception of the neighborhood. It's fine. If you go toward Roppongi in one direction you eventually do hit a really dodgy street with pickpockets and... More

The hotel is very attractive, recently renovated and the rooms are very generous. The only down-side for those traveling with partners is that the hotel has no double beds and the additional fee for a partner are quiet steep (100 Euros). The neighborhood Roppongi is not the best in Tokyo (too many sleazy bars and load foreigners) ... otherwise it... More

Followed my girlfriend to Tokyo on a conference, where all the conference guests stayed at this hotel. This non-profit hotel (subsidized by various entities including the Rockefeller Foundation) serves to promote cultural cooperation between Japan and other countries. Most of the guests seemed to be either academics or people somehow involved in the arts and entertainment. The rooms are a... More
