I have stayed in quite a few hotels in Tokyo and so the fact that my Double Room in Hotel Villa Fontaine Jimbocho was very small was no surprise. The whole hotel though did not feel welcoming and it was very basic. The lobby was down a floor from the entrance and made the whole thing feel a little closed in, dull and depressing... It could do with a brighten up. My bed was comfortable and the bathroom perfectly functional. The cost was only GB£55 a night so very reasonable for Tokyo. In summary I would not stay here again but it served me well for the two nights business I had in Tokyo. i would not have wanted to stay here more than a couple of nights though.

I needed a hotel stay as a plan B so I booked it (unfortunatelly had no time to read all the reviews) in the morning and arrived the same day. Opted for breakfast as I was traveling with a 5-years old son so this was a must. Let me state the good thing first - the bed is very comfortable, staff is friendly (bad Englush though). Otherwise - hotel is outdated and the breakfast is a joke. The description on the booking.com says "simple Western dishes". In reality, the staff at the reception gives you a box with two small sendwiches (ham and fried shripms) and a yoghurt. Youu can also select water, juice, coffee and black tea. So much about "western dishes". You can eat it "in the lobby or in the room" as they tell you. In the lobby, there are no tables and the table in the room is big enough only for 1 person. Not to mention that there is only 1 chair in the room ... Eventhough we were 2, my son didn't receive his own breakfast box. When they cleaned the room after the first day, they took one set of towels away and left us only one. What a shame. The nearest metro exit is Nr. 5, but has no elevator or escalator. If you're coming with a heavy luggage, this might be a problem. Exit nr. 9 has elevator but is a bit further away (see picture).

The hotel is very old and outdated. Even the entrance is smelly. Furnitures in the lobby and room take you to 1980s. There's no proper breakfast hall in the hotel. Guests are given a small box include of 2 cold sandwiches which are usually pork sandwiches. They do not accept any request to change them to vegetarian or cheese. Front desk staff do not speak English, even very simple things cannot be understood by staff. I can easily say that this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in Japan. Stay away from this place. Definitely waste of money.

Hotel is old and outdated. Nothing is like seen on the photos (photoshopped photos). There’s no proper breakfast hall. Guests are given only 2 cold sandwiches, usually pork. Staff doesn’t speak English. Stay away from this hotel! Do not waste your money with this place.

The best thing of this hotel is the location! Few steps away from the jimbocho subway station. Tiny room, but good size of a bathroom, with all the amenities. Very clean, staff super nice. Recommended!

Absolutely excellent stay. Quaint and cozy hotel. Staff were very friendly. Room were small but clean. Bathroom was up to date. Excellent toiletries included. Close to Jimbocho Station. Many small restaurants with in walking distance. Only draw back was not much room for luggage or closet space. We made it work for our stay.

Walking distance to several subway stations, nearest to Jimbocho station. Also restaurants and shops, convenience stores, schools and universities are nearby. Tokyo Dome and the Imperial Palace are very near, you can opt to walk. The place is so clean and staff are kind and accommodating even though language barrier is a struggle. The rooms are small but comfortable. Hotel amenities are provided. I love the feeling of freshness, cleanliness and quietness while walking around the area every morning.

It is near to subway, less than 100 m, and many points of interest can be easily reached in the city. The room is small, but clean. Provides slippers, yukata, toothbrush, etc. The staff speaks English, although the use of Japanese is preferred. It is not easy to find the location without a map. Even the hotel name outside is written in Japanese.

I needed a hotel near the Tokyo Dome area, and while this one is not super close, it's still within walking distance. The hotel is small but very practical, nice size room, clean, good bathroom with shower and bathtub, this was a non smoking room. Comfortable bed and helpful staff. The hotel is easy to miss, as it is on a side street. This part of Tokyo is easy to walk, with an old flavor and plenty of small restaurants. Train stations nearby, or you can make the 10 min walk to the Tokyo Dome station.
