Once you have flown into Rome and then twisted and turned your way through the mountains for 2 hours to 1250m you are at the town of Santo Stefano. No Tvs, No Telephones, you will count the number of people you meet on one hand. The rooms and the village is like been in a film set. The beds and... More

Rarely do I post on Tripadvisor but I've been using it so often on our trip through Italy, I felt the need to comment where I thought it may be helpful. These reviews are spot on - the place is magical, totally unique and one of the most amazing locations to which I've ever been. I wish they would address... More

Rustic, charming and beautiful. If you are looking for a hotel with a groovy bar, great fluffy beds, attentive waiters and a great open all hours restaurant, then this is not the place for you. This is a retreat from the normal way of hotels. The rooms are old homes in the village and ave been beautifully restored. Underfloor heating... More

Beautiful location, magical experience. The village is amazing. Charming and unique. The rooms are very large and very comfortable. Often made of several different rooms. Linen bed sheets, hand made soap, fireplaces with wood logs, large bath tubs in room, etc. Very clean rooms. Views are amazing. It is a very special place. Service is pretty basic. No "classic" hotel... More

An amazing peaceful place. Our house- two storey- was beautiful with a fire Place and spacious. The only negative thing is that there is no shower just a bath tap where you have to pure water through a caraf .. Not convinient. The food is AMAZING a really culinary experience. Overall its a great trip and hotel. More

My husband and I stayed here for a couple nights in-between traveling from Rome to Florence. We came here in mid-April and the place was fairly empty - there may have been 3 or 4 other guests at the time. It was also quite cold and on the last day it snowed a bit (even though it was 70 degrees... More

Our choice to book this hotel was made after careful dissection of various websites undertaken with the skill of a forensic scientist. So our eyes were wide open to the fact that this could be a different hotel "experience". Different? How right we were. We booked a superior room at 250 Euros looking for that extra bit of luxury over... More

I feel a little bit sad, because so much about Sextantio is good. Indeed the reviews below are consistently glowing. Yes, the hotel is unique, yes, it is a daring venture and should be encourged, and yes, it is really beautiful. It's in a stunning village in a remarkable setting, and clearly my view is in the minority....however, I couldn't... More

This remote 16th century village at almost 4000 ft in Abruzzo is truly a magic place to stay. Restored with loving care, every room has its own unique character. Modern necessities such as heating and lighting and sanitary provisions are provided in every room with great subtlety, maintaining the ancient character throughout. Sadly the earthquake of 2009 has destroyed the... More
