We stayed in the Elmwood Suite which is adapted for wheelchair use which means there is bags of space. The kitchen is enormous and has everything you could possibly need for a family holiday. The accommodation is very comfortable with lovely sofas and pretty floral furnishings and pictures. Although the holiday cottages are part of the original stables and back... More

Our family has just returned from a fantastic stay at the castle. The apartment is spacious, clean and has all the facilities you need when travelling with 3 children. A very relaxing experience - we cant wait to go back!!

We stayed here with 5 adults and a child and you could not fault the amenities or the services. Joan is an absolute delight and asset to,the place, even had freshly cooked scones on our arrival. Large and warm apartment with everything you need. The history alone is amazing, but alas we missed out on spying a ghost! It was... More

We have just spent a fantastic morning looking round the castle, one of the nicest day trips we've had in a long time. The castle is absolutely fascinating and everything a castle should be - lots of history, hidden secret passages and stories of hidden rooms.  We particularly liked the fact that it isn't presented in an overly sanitised way... The nearly 1,000 year-old Delgatie Castle has been associated with Clan Hay for almost 700 hundred of those years. As someone with strong Clan Hay affiliations, the opportunity to stay several nights in the castle was a truly memorable experience. This is not a fairy-tale type castle with turrets and battlements. Rather, it is a very good example of a... More

We have just returned from a 3 night stay in Ashwood Cottage. Joan gave us a lovely welcome & also a bag of fresh scones butter & jam which we thoroughly enjoyed. The cottage was spotlessly clean & had everything we needed. The castle is well worth a visit & so is the lovely tea-room. We had very enjoyable walks... More

Delgatie Castle is a real castle dating back to 1050. Mary Qween of Scots stayed there in 1562. The castle has tours and a small tea room for a quick snack. We stayed in the self catering Symbister Suite. It has three bedrooms, one is enormous with a four poster bed. The kitchen has everything you need and is very... More
