My husband and I stayed at this B&B during a recent trip through the Black Forest. The people who own the B&B are the most amazing friendly people we came across during a 6 week trip through Europe. The night we arrived we were tired from travelling and so decided to have dinner at the restaurant downstairs in the B&B.... More

First, we did not stay at this Gasthaus. We had made reservations at another place in Schiltach, but wanted to try a different place to eat. It was SO worth it--the best food we had in our week in the Black Forest. The service was impeccable and the woman who owns the Gasthaus speaks excellent English, so she helped translate... More

We loved this place. A traditional inn, family run for about 400 years and buried in the Black Forest. The owner-chef and his wife were very welcoming and helpful. The rooms were all very clean, quiet and everything worked. The food was all produced in house, really good Black Forest fayre with plenty of choice, excellent specialties and home made... More

If you are visiting the Black Forest, and want to be in a fascinating and unique place, this is a highly recommended option! The hotel has a very warm atmosphere and a wonderful woman manager who is really kind and helpful. The place is very well kept, and the rooms are great (possibly a bit on the small side, but... More

We loved our two night stay here. The woman owner was very friendly. We had a room upstairs that was spacious, clean, and had a great view into the town. It was a treat to have a plate of fresh fruit in our room. Breakfast in the very German atmosphere dining room was very good. We had one dinner at... More

We stayed here at the beginning of our 12 night trip to Germany. Our room was lovely, four-poster bed and the couple who run it are the best hosts. The food in the restaurant was delicious and so was the breakfast. It was so good, we spent another 2 nights here on our return to the airport. We were given... More

We stayed just one night but we recommend the hotel! The rooms are charming, comfortable and tiny, hospitality is perfect, the host is friendly and very kind. What we like most is the cuisine, we had dinner at the hotel's restaurant and it was absolutely gorgeus!

Found the hotel through the lonely planet guide as being bike friendly. The host, Rosemarie, was extremely friendly and made us feel most welcome. The room was first class as was the food as we dined there that night. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and was superb value for money. For motorcyclists free garage parking is always a... More
