We stayed for a week at Great Seaside in July and were given a warm welcome by Amanda. Great Seaside is genuinely just 5 mins from the beach - no tour operator hype ! For the week that we were there the beach was normally pretty empty. Although it is a pebble beach, there are rock pools and sand at... more

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights at the begining of June. The B & B is a very pretty thatched cottage in a wonderful location, close to Branscombe beach and the coastal footpath, and surrounded by wonderful countryside. Very clean and attractive rooms with exposed stone walls. There is also a lovely lounge and dining area with... more

My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend. The hostess Amanda was very friendly and extremely helpful. The room was very lovely, very clean and tidy---a contrast to when we stayed at a 5 star hotel in Bournemouth. The breakfast was delicious and the service just right. The village itself is very pretty and there were 2 very... more

We stayed for 9 whole days in July and in spite of fairly miserable weather we had a lovely time ; having stayed in the area a few times and having relatives in Branscombe itself we know the area pretty well and can thoroughly recommend it for all ages and our visit coincided with the Branscombe airshow which was a... more

Oct 2009. Had very pleasant, relaxing stay. Highlights: 1.The beach, near enough to get to with deckchairs, picnics, books etc or for the less energetic you can drive down, there is a public car park with WCs and also a cafe with quite a good menu. Beach is pebbly, so no castle-building, but still a very pleasant spot 2. The... more

Amanda is a very bubbly hostess who makes you feel right at home and is very good with children. My wife and I shared the two upstairs rooms with our four year old son and my mother. Bathroom is immense and well fitted and stocked. Bedrooms are very comfortable and warmly decorated. Guest lounge / breakfast room is well appointed... more

Very well furnished, good breakfast, and quiet. The owners are very wellcoming and make you feel at home. Ample parking in courtyard, and no need to use car as walks are nearby, and local bus service is 5 mins away. Good food available at the Mason Arms, and try the Branscombe Bitter! This is not a working farm, but a... more

We had a lovely short break in this 16C stone thatched cottage close to the beach. Our accommodation was ideal for a family. We had two rooms cosily tucked into the eaves of this historic building with a generously proportioned bathroom off the landing in between. The decor was tasteful and fresh, an eclectic mix of antiques and shaker-style furniture.... more

This B & B has just opened (I think) and is located in a National Trust owned Farmhouse. It is in a great location really close to Branscombe beach and within walking distance of some good pubs. The building itself is hundreds of years old, but has been refurbed to provide a really good, spotless, b & b. The gardens... more
