I visited on a Friday lunchtime, only 5 adults eating. Decor is excellent, clean and comfortable. Service is warm and welcoming. I ordered the homemade steak and ale pie which came with chips and veg. The pie is genuine homemade with excellent short crust pastry and plenty of well cooked meat as filling. There were plenty of chunky chips, although... More

The welcome from the staff and the locals was great, the rooms are modern and very clean, the food was well presented and very tasty. Thank you to the owners for their hospitality during an excellent breakfast. The rooms are detatched from the main pub, that overlook the pub gardens and even the occasional deer wondering through. There are only... More

A lovely pub with good food and real ale. A very warm welcome, the rooms were very comfortable, clean and the cooked breakfast was excellent! A good base to explore the cotswolds. We had a very relaxing break thank you. More

I'm quite happy to write my review now that it is unlikely I'm be staying here much more. The reason I say that is I didn't want it too busy. It only has 4 rooms and there are several regulars stayinf a couple of days a week. I was fortunate to find this shortly after starting to work in Swindon... More

Stayed at the Jolly Tar for 2 nights with my wife following a short stay in London. Warm welcome from the owner Paul, spotlessly clean and well looked after accomodation. The rooms are set separate from the pub in superbly restored stable/barn block. The rooms have tea/coffee, t.v. ironing board & iron. The pub serves meals and although we didn't... More

Stayed only two nights but definately going back. All five of us agreed it was the best value we found on our trip to Wales from Hertfordshire. Large garden plentiful parking - great breakfast and evening meals . Ideal location on edge of Cotswolds - only a few miles from M4. Should not be missed if you are in the... More
