We were only going to stay for 1 night but extended it for 2, good hotel and good location for Floating Markets, both Morning and Evening and will take you to both and pick you up. The hotel itself is right on the river (you can go to the markets via the river at a cost), the room was big,... More

we stayed in the hotel on 29th April and it was nice! lunch was nice service great, very professional. we book a boat tour to amphawa and fire flies, very nice and we had the chance to donate to monks in the morning. only downside: the normal rooms are a bit simple for the price. Because of river access I... More

Stayed one night with the family. We were given an upgrade from a delux to one of the one bed villa. The room was clean and will decorated. Bed was good. All the staff were friendly and efficient. Food at the all day dining was quite good. The only downside we experienced was the water. After a day out and... More

We stopped off here on our way back from Si Sawat. Lunch was excellent. Fresh fish, tasty curries and all manner of Thai food. Staff were very attentive. Service was quick and polite. Could of done with a sleep before getting on the bikes for the ride back to BKK. Great view of the river whilst eating lunch, and the... More

Amphawa is worth a stopover, especially during the week-end so you can see a real floating market and at the same time take advantage of a boat tour on the river to see fireflies. If you have not seen fireflies before, this is the place to do it. The website indeed gives a better impression of the hotel than the... More

We stayed one night at this hotel on our way to Cha-am. It was about halfway from Bangkok and made for a pleasant drive. We had two rooms booked in the lead in category and where allocated two rooms opposite each other on the ground floor, meaning there was a room above us. This actually worked out well as there... I was travelling with my husband and parents on a small road trip around Thailand. We only stayed here for one night and arrived late afternoon so did not spend a lot of time at the hotel. However, our check in was simple and straight forward. We were greeted with smiles and a golf buggy to transport us 30m from... More

After our experience at Baan Amphawa Resort we had another prove that the Internet can be tricky for planning your trip. The resort's website promises “a peaceful hideaway” and “luxurious comfort”. What you get is a conference hotel that caters mainly to Asian companies and their management. Relaxing at the pool means laying among dressed-up business people who stand around... More
