We stayed at the Grandpapa lodge for 8 nights in early March. The village of Niseko is a bit confusing, I felt, if you have not been there before, but the Grandpapa Lodge is in a fantastic location. Quite enough that you don’t really have any noise, but a very short stagger (in ski boots) to the ski bus, that... More

We came from Germany to Niseko for skiing and booked 4 nights in the Grandpapa Lodge. It was the best decision we could make! Everything was perfect there. Good, big enough and clean rooms, delicious breakfast, free WiFi and a very nice common room. The Grandpapa Lodge is situated just about 200m from the main street with all the bars... More

I stayed at the Grandpapa for 1 week and found the place to be absolutely a delight! Great hospitality and you get the chance to meet many people from all over the world. A real communal feel, you are treated like family and a great BIG breakfast each morning to get you started for a full day's skiing! More

We stayed at Grandpapas for three weeks and did not want to leave! We scouted out a number of different places to stay in Niseko and this presented the best overall value for our purposes. We were rewarded with a very authentic Japanese pension run by a proud, dedicated family and their fantastic team. Staff were always on hand to... More

We stayed here for three nights while riding at Niseko. We stayed at three different budget Pensions and this was the relatively the worst. First thing about Pensions, the bathrooms are shared. If you are from America like us, or just shy, showering will be uncomfortable. After a couple times, its not a big deal. I agree with the other... More

Thank you for writing a review. This is Grandpapa`s manager Kohei Nikahara. We are very sorry that we made you displease for our room size and so on. If 3 people use one room, it will be 2 single beds and one extra bed. I can understand it is too small for the person who has big suitcase. So we... More

We had a great time at Grandpapa. Yoko gave us an introduction of Niseko Hirafu and she made us feel extremely welcome! Kohei was extremely helpful and lovely! Our room was large and beds very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely every morning at 8am and different every morning. The onsen was pretty much across the road which was lovely to go... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Grandpapa. The location in central Hirafu/Niseko is a great base for exploring all the different ski resorts. The service was great and it made us feel like a home away from home. The Onsen across the road is one of the best in the area with both inside and outside baths. Grandpapa is great... More

Niseko snow + Grandpapa hospitality = an awesome snow holiday I stayed in Grandpapa in late March 2010 and cannot wait to go back. The pension is run by a Japanese family that have lived in Niseko for about 20 years now and they gave the trip that little extra something as opposed to staying in an apartment/bigger hotel or... I think that one can do better for the money, although Hirafu is 2-3x as expensive as the rest of Japan. The management packs people in a way that is hard to believe 65 guests in a large house. The western breakfast is OK but one egg? It is really glorified toast and jam + cereal, not a "hearty" pre... More
