I did not stay at the pension which is next to the Onsen. Went there for the onsen itself and it's the most authenthic and traditional one you will find in Hirafu. Outdoor and indoor hot pools. Yukoro Onsen is one of the two main onsens in the Hirafu village area. It is located in the lower Hirafu pension village. The highlight is the outdoor bath when it is snowing -perfect after a day skiing. The male and female outdoor onsens are separated. It is a small onsen and could get a bit crowded in peak season...
