This is more a ryokan hotel than a small ryokan, so the service is not quite as personalized. Having said that, we were very well looked after, and one member of staff speaks excellent english. He (and others) were very helpful, providing maps, guides suggestions, and bowing us off on the bus back to Nagasaki...

Stayed one night with family. Building itself is old. But with renovation, it looks enough.
Room has Japanese style "tatami" space and 2 beds for sleeping. It is also OK for me.
There are several "onsen" to be reserved for private. And my kid really enjoyed it.
As for dinner, we have selection, And it was served at Japanese style...

First let me say that we arrived in Japan (Osaka) the day after the disaster and it was business as usual from Osaka southwards. Our travel was not impacted by the quake/tsunami at all. Japanese people are very concerned about how tourism will be affected, so please don't cancel your trip; go and enjoy all that Japan has to offer....
