We spent 4 nights here in March 2012 (an anniversary celebration for us.) The staff were excellent, with good English but (with one exception) happy to let me practice my French; they stored our cases when we arrived early, and took care that we were properly parked for the Tuesday morning when the market takes over the car park &... We spent 3 nights in this attractive small town and were very pleased with the hotel. The split-level bedroom was cosy and well-designed, with all modern amenities such as large flat screen TV and multiple-jet shower cubicle. We had dinner in the traditional restaurant and enjoyed well-prepared dishes in a comfortable setting. Breakfast is a self-service affair, with the usual... More

We chose this hotel based on its proximity to the Cherbourg ferry (about 1.5 hours), as well as its excellent rating on the Logis website for its food and accommodation. Although we found the food to be brilliant, the accommodation was a little bit tired , and with only one window, quite dark. However, regardless of this, we had a... More

Dear Miss/Madam, Thanks for coming in Le Fruitier, and for your positive and constructive opinion about our hotel… Indeed, we began refurbishing our rooms two years ago, which actually means that, today, half of our accommodation has just been renovated, and we will of course keep working on this next winter…so as to provide all or our guests with a... We have stayed at le Fruitier many times in the past and always enjoyed our stay. On this occasion we arrived on a Sunday, only to find that the excellent restaurant was closed (despite the sign on the pavement outside) and we had to eat in the hotel brasserie. The choice of menu was obviously not as extensive, but adequate,... More

The hotel is centrally located and there are free parking lot near this hotel. The family room we booked online is nicely furnished. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant since we read many good reviews about the food there. The staff is very friendly and speaks fluent English. The food was of course excellent. Our children had kids' meal... More

I've stayed here a few times and its always been good. A friendly, well run hotel with a very decent restaurant in a central location in Villedieu which is a great little stopover. The rooms are nothing special but its a good honest small French hotel. They have a garage too for your car which they charge a modest fee. More

We have been staying and eating in this hotel for 20 years. The rooms are remarkable value for money and the staff and management all work very hard to welcome everyone. The food has always been excellent in the restaurant and now the brasserie offers good food all day, 7 days a week. Unlike other places in Villedieu area, it... More

If you stay on the third floor you will find you bedroom up on your own mezzanine floor. Wierd but wonderful. The walls are hung with seamless fabric rather than paper, adding a touch of sophistication. Loads of free parking nearby. Saw a kingfisher on the river right in the middle of town! Very convenient for the surroundling countryside. More

We stopped over here en route to the south west. its an hour and a half from Cherbourg. We were welcomed most efficiently and courteously. the room was fine -even if there were stairs from sitting room/bathroom area to the bed- OK for the agile. There is secure parking if required. Even though at 9.00pm the dining room was finished... More
