We stayed at the Ratagan SYHA hostel, Glenshiel, Scotland, from the 6th to the 8th July 2011. My party consisted of two adults and two children. There simply cannot be a better location to stay if visiting the area - fantastic views to the 5 sisters, porpoises and otters passing by in the loch - HOWEVER - the service can at best be described as mixed. Paid for four nights accommodation at SYHA Ratagan. Ended up leaving after two nights. No room in dorm for my clothes, etc. No room in fridges/kitchen shelves for my food. Place overcrowded. Got allocated 10th bed in a 10 bed dorm - a room that should have 6 beds at most given its size. Snoring was unbelievably loud. No sleep.... More

Just a lovely place to stay. Incredible views, walking, sunsets, wildlife. Like staying in a holiday cottage! Very cosy sitting area to pass evenings.
