A true pleasure to eat in this hotel. The restaurant food and choice was very good and the service excellent. A little pricey on some items and drinks but worth it. More

Jane and Alan you should be proud of yourselves. what a lovely place to stay and what an enjoyable time was had. I booked in here due to there being low availability in Elgin on a business trip for one night. I was really pleased with the way that things worked out as I couldn't have wanted a more welcoming... Thank you so much for making my Aunt's 100th birthday lunch such a lovely and special occasion. As usual the food, service and attention to detail were impeccable. Although not one for a fuss Auntie thoroughly enjoyed her birthday and feels very at home and relaxed at the Archiestown. Everyone had such a lovely time and commented on how relaxed... More

We regularly come to the Archiestown hotel for a meal from huntly (about 40 mins drive) and its worth it every time, we've never had a bad meal there. We are always greeted by extremely warm, friendly and welcoming staff and we enjoy relaxing by the cosy fire with a drink and complimentary nibble while we choose our meal. The... More

We've had lunch at the Archiestown hotel a couple of times now and have not been disappointed. There is a very attractive and comfortable lounge to relax in pre and post dining and the dining room itself is airy and quite modern. There were a decent number of options on the Sunday lunch menu - I went very traditional and... More

We stayed at the Speyburn Guest House but as Lesly was indisposed we booked in here for the evening meal. Comfy armchairs in front of a roaring fire while you are brought a drink and try to choose from the wonderful choices on the Menu, before being taken through and seated in the restaurant. Very pleasant after a walk in... More

The Archiestown Hotel is not a large hotel. I think it has about 12 rooms. It would probably be best described as a "bijou hotel". But what a great place it is. The hosts Jane and Allan Hunter immediately make you feel very welcome and quite at home. There is a very warm, friendly feel about the place. The lounge... More

We stumbled across this restaurant while searching for the Macallan distillery (it's just up the road from it). Wonderful welcome - the lounge was like being at a lovely home, fantastic food, lovely hosts. This is worth a visit! We seriously discussed changing our travel plans so that we could stay longer in Dufftown and visit this place again. Will... More
