Takatu is heaven on earth, fruit of the earth, work of human hands. Fantastic pinot blanc, fanatical attention to detail by the owner an ex NZ Air captain and his wife. Four delightful rooms with balconies looking out over the vines. Breakfasts to die for looking out over the vines. Two nights here were not enough, we shall return!

“Two nights is simply not long enough!”

Just about every conceivable detail that could make your stay comfortable has been thought of here. The bed is nearly impossible to get out of in the morning, the one compelling reason being the luxurious bathtub for which bath salts, candles and fluffy towels are supplied. “Romantic getaway”

Spent one evening at Takatu. Absolutely amazing setting, indulgent and romantic all in one. Breakfast which is included was delicious and the hosts are truly superb. Proximity to Matakana and neighbouring atrractions is a further plus. Really you cannot fault the experience.

“A classy tranquil setting well worth a visit”

My wife and I only dropped in for a brief overnight stop as we were touring. Despite being delayed prior to arrival, we were directed to a great local restaurant and John waited up for us!
