Located in the Abasto Shopping Center, this kids’ museum offers everything from miniature versions of Buenos Aires landmarks to an up-close-and-personal look at how businesses (gas stations, doctor’s and dentist’s offices, TV and radio stations) function. Best of all, they get to try careers on for (mini) size while they’re here.
At this museum, kids are encouraged to touch everything—from the science displays that explain how electricity, gravity and other marvels actually work. Here, it’s all about noisy, interactive fun.
Next to the famed Recoleta Cemetery (final resting place of Eva Perón) stands an arts center with permanent and touring exhibits that also features theatrical and musical performances. Its first floor houses the kid-interactive Museo Participativo de Ciencias, where youngsters can wander on their own.
1½-hour tours that transport passengers on low-rising boats from the scenic Puerto Madero area to colorful La Boca. Cash-only tours depart twice daily Monday through Friday.
