If you're stuck with something to do during your Gold Coast jaunt, then you really must try something on this list to keep you occupied.

It is no particular order of preference or importance but there should be something for everyone.

There are heaps more to add when time allows!!! : )

    A great adults night out on the Gold Coast. Plenty of restaurants and bars to satisfy every taste. Situated on Broadbeach Island it's impossible to miss as you enter the Gold Coast from Nerang along the Broadbeach/Nerang Road, or travel north along the Gold Coast Highway from Coolangatta Airport.

    The "Food Fantasy" buffet there is great value and the dinner/show/accomodation packages are definately worth consideration. Make sure you see the professional "Las Vegas" style shows. The current show is called ZINGARA and they change completely every year or so.

    Travel to the top of the world's tallest residential tower in one of the fastest elevators!
    Located in central Surfers Paradise and offering the best view of the Gold Coast in every direction. See from Brisbane to Byron Bay (Or so they say lol)

    Costs about $18.50 AUD for an adult, which includes a short movie about the development etc. Purchase a family pass for 2 adults and 2 children to save on admission.

    There is a cafe/bar up there on Level 77 and you can get your photgraph professionally taken.

    Dreamworld, Coomera, Gold Coast

    A great all-rounder theme park. Plenty of scary heart stopping rides and shows for the young kids to the young at heart. Includes Tiger Island, Wiggles World and Nickelodeon Central.

    About a 1/2 hour drive north west from Broadbeach/Surfers Paradise along the M1 Freeway.

    Just follow the signs to Brisbane. Check out the Big Brother House whilst you are there!! $64 adult entry.

    Sea World, Main Beach, Gold Coast

    The closest theme park and more for shows and attractions but with plenty of rides.

    Located in Main Beach, 10 mins directly north of Surfers Paradise and just up the road from the Sheraton Mirage and Palazzo Versace Hotels. This is the place to see the dolphins, Polar Bears, sharks and acrobatic water skiing show. $64 adult entry.

    Hollywood on the Gold Coast?

    Well, not quite but a good family day out anyway. See the Looney Tunes Village, Shrek 4D Adventure, Superman Rollercoaster, Batman Ride and Police Academy Show.

    Wet 'n' Wild is located on the M1 highway beside Movie World. Follow the signs to Brisbane if travelling from the Gold Coast.

    An evening dinner show filled with outback music, drama and action.

    It's a 2 hour show with an enjoyable 3 course meal costing about $90 per adult. This also includes free beer, wine and soft drink. It may be little cheesy in places but good value and good clean fun. A must for the international visitor to the Gold Coast.

  • 8. Sanctuary Cove

    Shops, Cinema, restaurants and bars! What more do you want?? ; )

    Sanctuary Cove is found at the most northern tip of the Gold Coast, just keep heading north on the Gold Coast Highway from Surfers Paradise for about 1/2 an hour and follow the signs.

    A great place to chill out, window shop and listen to a band on Sunday afternoons. You can also hire house boats from here.

    This is the Gold Coast's premier Shopping Centre. If you can't find it here then forget it!

    An explosion of Gothic Rock, Mad Comedy and Creative Insanity. A great night out with friends. The show really is professionally done and goes for several hours. The 3 course meal is included in the price, as is a "ghost rain ride" to get in to your seat!

    A great fun night out and highly recommended!

    Costs about $79 to get in and you are well advised to book well in advance if you want to get a good seat. This place gets booked out pretty much every night. Particularily towards the end of the week and through the school holidays.

    Australias busiest racecourse - a must for all the racing buffs. Racing every Saturday in Bundall.

    Conrad Jupiters Magic Millions in January is a great week and Carlton Draught Prime Ministers Cup is worth a look in May. Just 2 kilometres west of central Surfers Paradise. Plenty of buses available.

    Most visitors to Surfers Paradise will find Grundys and it really is worth a look. Kids will have a great time - trust me.

    Check out over 1400 Australian Animals (including koalas) up close and personal. Feed the lorikeets and actually get to touch and hold some natives.

    This beautiful plateau, situated 70 Kms South of Brisbane and 25 Kms inland from Surfers Paradise. Rising up to 580 meters above the surrounding countryside, flat-topped Tamborine Mountain (often referred to as Mount Tamborine) has long been a favourite weekend retreat for city dwellers, and is home for approximately 5000 lucky residents.

    There are fantastic bush walks, B&B's, devonshire teas, Weekend Markets, Antique Shops and breathtaking lookouts. You would be mad to miss it.

    Head west on the Broadbeach Nerang Road and follow the signs.

    Springbrook National Park - Waterfalls, Forests & Look Outs.

    Plunging waterfalls, cool forests, rugged gorges and remnants of early foresting history are the go at Springbrook National Park in the Gold Coast hinterland.

    Covering land on and around Springbrook Plateau, the 2720ha park protects rainforests, eucalypt forests and the headwaters of rivers flowing to the Gold Coast.

    Springbrook lies on the Scenic Rim, a chain of mountains stretching across the Queensland-New South Wales border. Walking tracks ranging from easy to challenging take you to lookouts, waterfalls and ancient forests.

    Springbrook is about 90 minutes from Brisbane and 45 minutes west of Surfers Paradise. The park has three sections: Springbrook Plateau, Mt Cougal to the east and Natural Bridge to the west.

    At 900m above sea level, Springbrook can be cool even in summer. Holidays and weekends can be crowded.

    A fantastic place to go for a country drive when holidaying on the Gold Coast!

    Plenty of Accomodation Options are available both around Springbrook and Mt Tamborine.
