this is a must.
choose a reputable agent like Island Hopper. use a speed boat tour (but sit in the back).
take a full day tour to get the most out of your day.
tours usually include maya bay, phi phi island, khai island.
the snorkelling is good so make sure you attempt it!
the lunch served at phi phi (included in tour) was halal on the day we went, but just verify with the kitchen staff.
we really enjoyed 3 parts of this tour:
1. Ko Panyee Muslim Fishing Village; try and find a tour that includes this luch visit. dont spend the entire hour eating, explore yhe village and mosque which are on stilts in the ocean. also get the locals to describe their fascinating Tsunami experience to you! once again, the food is halal.
2. the phang na region through which your boat wades (a slow as opposed to speed boat is better to enjoy the scenery on this tour). beautiful rock formations to take in.
3. james bond island: pretty although very busy with tourists.
one of the best beaches in phuket. patong beach is too full of vendors and not the turquoise beach tourists anticipate!
enjoy the restaurants and walk the promenade.
halal eateries: Dubai Sheeshah Restaurant 2 (much cleaner and smarter than Dubai the ocean plaza mall offers some good shopping.
bargain at all stalls andbe aware that shopping is cheaper at the night markets one rod behind patong beach. take a stroll down bangla road for more shopping.
cheaper shopping at the night markets, nicer massage places and good halal food at ali bhaba and dubai 1.
a wonderful spa on patong beach. we had a happy hour special at 11am of 2 massages for the price of 1.
professional and luxurious.
Great fun but take safety precautions.
