  • 1. Lukacs Baths
    Lukacs Baths, Budapest, Central Hungary

Budapest best selling feature along with it's enchanting, unspolit beauty, has to be the health spas, Turkish baths - medicinal natural springs - worth a visit purely for this pampering experience and there are dozens to choose from; Rudas, Lukacs and the szechenyi to name but a few

Finding good, inexpensive accommodation in Budapest is not hard. We stayed in someone's home right in the centre of Pest. Not only was it very comfortable and convenient but it also gave us a real authentic feel of Hungary. It was a beautiful period building with huge windows and high ceilings - many apartments can be found just like this to rent for just a few days. Don't be afraid to shop around for great deals

  • 3. Exploring Buda and pest

Whether you enjoy scenic walks or browsing market stalls Buda and pest offer both side by side. To the left of the city is Buda and, devided by the River Danube, to the right you find Pest. Buda offers scenic walks up the mountian which, once at the top, historic monuments can be found, along with the most impressive view of the city. On the Pest side you will find the Central Market amongst other small street markets. Alternatively a stroll along the Danube Embankment offers a mixture of pleasures - refreshments and cakes are a must at the Mariott Hotel!!!

  • 4. Just taking time out!

Budapest has a uniqueness which is hard to describe. It's not the prettiest of cities like say Prague, but it has a corroding beauty which makes it all the more enchanting and it is not yet overrun by tourists, unlike Prague!!! Though a long way from the USA and Canada it is worth making a note should you be looking for somewhere just a little bit different from a European trip. Flights from the uk can be found for as little as £89 return via Bristish Airways and once there food and drink is incredibly cheap.
