If I were traveling to Belfast for the first time, this is how I would love to spend my day.
Convenient to Queen’s University, this cozy hotel offers great hospitality at a reasonable price. The city center is a manageable walk from the hotel and there are a plethora of restaurants and nightspots in the immediate area.
The classic Victorian red brick buildings of Queen’s University and the magnificent surrounding grounds provide an ideal setting for a morning walk to start your day.
The Botanic Gardens, home to the Ulster Museum, also boast a grand palm house and tropical ravine. This is a beautiful place to take in the warmth and smells of a broad range of plant life.
Located on the grounds of the Botanical Gardens, this museum contains collections of contemporary international art, Irish art, Irish furniture, glass, silver, ceramics and attire over history, presenting an exhibit of life in Ireland over the past 9,000 years.
Brilliantly mixing the pleasure of reading with the pleasure of eating a nice, healthy lunch, this café serves a number of sandwiches and a great variety of soups in the back of a secondhand bookstore.
This renowned art gallery hosts extensive collections of costume, textiles, film, photography, media and fine arts. What makes it even more appealing is that admission is free!
Belfast’s most popular bar is the perfect place to dance away the evening after a long day of exploring the cultural sites. Excellent DJs spin hopping music until the wee hours.
