A mixture of lazing around the beach, pool and things to do which are without doubt worth doing!
Fantastic hotel which we totally loved. A small piece of paradise which we fell in love with. The floating jetty is not ideal for the less mobile and after a few drinks of an evening it's fine! When the water is choppy, the short boat ride feels anything but short! Staff are so friendly and couldn't do enough!
Mrs Ya....she is totally mad but absolutely fell in love with her. She picks you up in the open top jeep and drives around all these twists and turns until you end up in the middle of nowhere! The kitchen she has is fab and totally open air! Make sure you take mozzy spray with you otherwise you will be eaten alive! We were the only two people there for the morning session, but she was booked up in the afternoon and people arrived whilst we were there to book up other sessions with her. The morning session we felt was fab, we had one to one tuition and despite having a light breakfast (so don't need to do!) we were sitting down to a Thai feast by 10.15am! So much food we made and her team of girls are so helpful. Totally loved this trip without question and would recommend it to anyone...
I have to admit, this was the man's decision to do this which I grudgingly went along with. Well the last laugh was on me at the end as I totally couldn't stop raving about it. We booked a package with Mel directly where we ended up kayaking, swimming in this emerald water (clearly pads out the excursion!) and then elephant trekking! Mel picked us up and we drove 45 minutes to the waters where we would begin our kayaking adventure. We stopped off at pineapple plantation and Mel was so helpful in providing us with local knowledge which we wouldn't have necessarily have found out. The hut that he brought us to, upon parking the car to take us to the kayaking area, was nothing more than just a hut. We loosely ordered lunch which again I was feeling a little wary about. Getting into the kayak was interesting but it was fab to kayak down past the oyster plants and meeting the local fishermen. Walking into the cave, I would recommend wearing the hideous strap on shoes to ease with walking around. We went barefoot! Again take your mozzy spray as you will get eaten alive! Great photos of the stalagmites and old wall paintings in the cave. Back out on the water you kayak up stream and worth taking photos of the nature that keeps you company along the way! Finishing our kayaking, we went back to our hut and were offered the most amazing lunch! Gorgeous tom yum soup, chicken rice, prawns and salad. After this we hopped back in the car and headed to the emerald waters. This wasn't the most amazing thing to do but it's great to see whilst you are here. You can swim in crystal clear waters and splash about whilst sipping the young coconut juice fresh of the fruit. After an hour of this we headed to the elephant trekking. How anyone could find this on their own accord, I have no idea. Adamant that we didn't want to see any elephants doing a show and to see them in their natural habitat so we trekked on them for the hour and then fed them afterwards. Totally fantastic day which I will treasure!
Boats made out of wood which when booked can take you to the most amazing places yet to be discovered! I know that various places were charging 3000 Baht for the day to take you around, (this was private hire) or you could jump on a group boat for 450 Baht. We wanted to hire our own boat and we found one that would take us around to four of the neighbouring islands for only 2000 baht. Would recommend taking drinks with you but they do provide some water and coconuts for you to have. It was a lovely thing to do just the two of us and if we wanted to spend more time at a certain island we could tell him and he would come back and pick us up later on.
