I traveled to Charlotte with my team from Phoenix to receive training from Andy Andrews, the co-founders and many SVPs to better our journey to the top!
Consequently this hotel was around 7 miles from the downtown Time Warner Cable Arena I had to go to for 3 days, so that was quite expensive to venture back and forth. Aside from that, the rooms were very nice, clean and offered complimentary water, tea and coffee bags (these were hidden underneath the tv dresser). The bathroom was spacious and had shelves to place toiletries on. Our room was on the 5th level and was relatively close to the elevator. This time of year was ideal to venture to NC due to the fact that it was not as nearly as humid and warm as it had been in the weeks prior to our stay. So, with that being said, it would be wonderful to sit outdoors and enjoy the evening weather by the pool side or merely to walk around and see what is near the hotel.
One more note about the hotel entry way. When customers enter the hotel lobby area, you are instantly greeted by jovial employees, lemon/lime water, a computer for internet use, a Starbucks machine to get fresh coffee for a fee (especially if you're not a fan of the room type) and lovely new age music as you waltz through the elegant room with decor that suits it to a T.
I went here with a handful of friends the first night and then came back for a second time for someone celebrating his birthday. We came after our meeting at Time Warner Cable ended around 6:30-7 pm. This place was quite popular and we had to wait maybe 15-20 minutes for a table to accommodate 5 people. Although it was packed with football fans at some tables, we managed to receive good service and the noise level wasn't too loud either. It was a fun place to be in with a lot of people around enjoying the cool night indoors and out.
The food was alright, but I only ate there once and had their Veggie Wrap so I cannot speak for everyone else that attended (I had a smoothie from a place upstairs from the pub the other visit). The wrap was loaded with cheese and tzatziki (which I love, but not so much the cheese), lettuce, tomatoes and I also had a side of fresh fruit which was not from a can! I might return here when I travel back to Charlotte, but then again, why go back when I have the rest of the city to taste!
This was my go-to place when I wanted a quick lunch before returning to Time W.C.A. I decided to go here 3 times and had Organic Apple Acai, Cherry Picker and the Mangosteen smoothie choice. I was on a budget so this was suitable and substantial for a number of hours after consuming the smoothies. My favorite was the Mangosteen blend since it was sweet, tart and had a tropical twist in the flavors. The rest were tasty too, but I usually get Acai at Robecks near my house in AZ, and the version at Smoothie King tasted as if it was loaded with even more sugar than what I've become accustomed to. I had the small, medium and large smoothie cup sizes at differing times, and the large was like a jumbo ( I hadn't consumed anything for at least 24 hours and this size kept me sated for 4-5 hours). For those looking for something quick and (hopefully) moderately healthy, then I suggest stopping by to try one of their many flavors.
This small restaurant was nestled in the lower dining level of the Omni Hotel off of Trade St. I stumbled across this place while walking around town to see what was available for lunch one warm afternoon. This place offers organic produce, smoothies, sandwiches, some soup, coffee, tea, energy bars and a handful of breakfast items. I had a build your own salad plate (which ended up being 7.99 for the large-a great deal until I noticed the spring mix was below quality). The flavors were excellent, so I decided to return a second time and get the Yo-Ga morning blend of yogurt, fruit and granola for $3.25 and their energy trail mix bag for the same price. My friends had a chicken wrap, panini and tortilla soup which everyone enjoyed immensely. I definitely recommend this to those who appreciate healthy dining at a cheap price!
