This the port for all cruises departing from Ft. Lauderdale. It's a huge port with 4-6 ships on any given weekend. Taxi minimum is $10 to the port but well worth it to drop off to the door.
You'll be spending alot of time at the aiport if you're taking a cruise. Here's some helpful tips.
1) wireless is free at the airport so bring a laptop or web-enabled phone to pass the time.
2) If you are checking in more than 3 hours early to the airport check if your airlines will take bags early. Southwest did allow early check in at their bags-to-go location at baggage claim so we were free to get outside of the aiport instead of wait with our luggage.
3) bus and tri-rail service are available for pickup outside of the baggage claim if you have a lot of time to kill and are looking to save $.
