"We hiked on 04/26/13 and choose to go with a private tour our guide was awesome and was extremely attentive. We had viewed that Lava 10/09 from a view point which is now gone he showed up where it was and told us when it was covered over which for us made it personal he would walk us over if the lav..."a broke out and we didn't see it he was the best i would recommend the private tour it is worth it everyone I tell about my trip I tell them about the tour and how great it was.

"This review is based on the Sunset tour that my husband and I took on May 3, 2013. Keep in mind that it is based on us sitting in the very first row of the boat. First tip, if you don't want to sit in the front, make sure to be in the front of the line to climb up the ladder to get into the boat...." We were near the back end of the line, not realizing that no one would want to sit up front. I thought for sure some thrill seeking souls would scoop them right up, but not the case, at least not on our trip.
This is a not your typical sightseeing tour, in that it's zoom to the lava flow and zoom back after viewing the lava. (Not a lot of narration, not a lot of pointing out of anything.) Not a complaint, just an observation.
And when I say zoom, I mean ZOOM. Sitting in the first row, by the time we got to the lava flow, we were drenched. I kid you not, I would have put on my snorkel mask if I had had it with me. I wasn't prepared for just how much water would be splashing up in...

"We went on May 3, 2013 and had the best time snorkeling here. The only difficult part is getting over the rocks to the tide pools. You do have to be very careful, because it is very easy to slip and fall. Would highly recommend this area for beginners and children due to the variety of marine lif..."e that is so easily accessible. We saw the most variety here during our trip which included both the Big Island and Kauai.
