The museum preserved the upstairs jail cells and hanging gallows just as they were when the County used it as a jail. The main floor houses exhibits on Hood County history covering David Crockett's descendants, General Granbury's tombstone, the Colony, Jesse James, John Wilkes Booth, Bell Starr, Comanche Peak, Barnard's Trading Post, the Brown family piano, and much more. It is an 8 foot wide concrete trail traversing 2.17 miles from the Granbury Regional Airport to Shanley Park/ Houston Street Park, north of the Historic Downtown Square. Parking locations and restroom facilities are located along the trail. Along the trail, there are nine plaques dedicated to historical people (James Burton Burks and the Thrash Family), places (Comanche Peak, Ice House, Legion Hall, and Brazos Drive-In Theatre) and facts (Stick Horse Factory) of Granbury. « less

Owner description: The Glenn Brother's Building that was built in 1885 by attorney, James Farr, was bought by brothers: Clark, Dan, John and James Glenn in 1888 who...... more » Owner description: The Glenn Brother's Building that was built in 1885 by attorney, James Farr, was bought by brothers: Clark, Dan, John and James Glenn in 1888 who opened a grocery store. The brothers were also interested in the political side of things in Granbury, as well as, other businesses. Their store and three others were engulfed in flames in 1891 and had to be repaired. Contractors Elliott & Halsley made extensive repairs and used heavy iron clad timbers to support the brick veneer front of the upper story, adding a touch of Victorian style. Currently The Downtown Store, Our Place and DeVine Wine are located in this structure. « less
