This is a wonderful library!!! If they don't have what you want, they will order it from a neighboring library. Staff is very friendly and they will help you find what you want. It's clean, quiet and has a beautiful view and outdoor garden. I love this place!!!
They will also walk you through the process of ordering materials online.

The Hopewell Junction Depot Museum is a very interesting look at the growth of the railroads and their influence not just in the Hudson River Valley but all over New York State. How the railroads effected not just transportation and commerce but the growth of the small towns that surrounded and were built up by them.

There are displays in the three galleries of the train station: the front of the station is the small gift shop and the displays on the transportation of the trains and the lines that were created. The center gallery is the train conductors office and the Western Union communications offices and the back gallery which was the old ticket booth is the development of the railroad history, the Borden Milk display and other community displays.

In the back of the museum is a caboose that the volunteers are renovating and will be able to tour in the future. It really shows the life of a train conductor during that part of the last century.

For a small museum, it is packed with information and if you are a train buff this is the museum for you.

If you are looking for a place to safely ride or run with a consistent paved and level surface, this is it. You can start in Hopewell Jct and go across the longest pedestrian bridge over water and continue onto Ulster County. Great views all the wau

Lake is clean and there is a small sandy beach area, which is great for kids. Swimming is very enjoyable, 2 small kiddy slides and a dock in the deeper side. Was disappointed that I could not find the bridge, to take a walk. Also didn't realize that you are charged by person.

I had visited the Brinckerhoff House during the summer months when the estate was in full bloom and it is very pretty to visit on a warm afternoon.

The house was open for the Christmas holidays and I was able to visit before their annual tea fundraiser. It was really pretty and decorated for a Revolutionary War Christmas. This meant garlands and seasonal fruits decorating the mantels and doorways. There was a Christmas tree but that was more of the Victorian era.

In the Keeping Room in the original part of the house had its fireplace going and the crackling sounds and smell of the fire really put you into the holiday spirit.

Try to visit the house during the holiday season.

The glory days are over for this once upon a time apple orchard and farm market. They have such a limited inventory you have to wonder how they keep their doors open. So much of what I see is old and rotting on the shelves. Not going back anymore.
