We were met at reception where it was explained to us that this was an "open" camp - ie not protected by fences - and all game is allowed to wander into the grounds. The exception being that there is an electric wire at elephant height to stop elephants coming in and destroying the camp's trees. For this reason we were to be very watchful when moving around the camp and were always to be accompanied by one of the guards when out after dark.
