"I took a group go high school students on the water view version with Victoria as our guide. She is super knowledgeable and quite the character! She had my students wearing hippie headbands and dancing as one read to them from the prow of the boat we were in. It was very windy the day we toured so ..."getting close in was difficult as the channels are really shallow. The boat is beautiful and we sat on the deck as we toured. You will learn a lot about this unique community and get up close to the houseboats.

"This is a sleeper free tour in Sausalito. Not hard to find if you have GPS, in an office/industrial park setting. There is an excellent factory store with good buys on their ceramic dinner ware, as well as other local artists' accessories. Free tour took only about 45 minutes. Cute young ladies give..." the factory tour, taking you from history of Edith Heath's art. Showing you mud to refined clay, demonstrating the equipment which shapes and molds product, finally the decoration, glaze and firing kilns. Wow, did not know there was so much hand work at fine detail to achieve the consistency. These guys are really "green" as far as recycling and packing. Great place to visit, as well as pick up a few good buys for gifts or home use. Also had some free coffee, muffins and cookies. These are warm, friendly folks. Good fun for everyone.

"Loved it so much, we bought a family membership, even though we are only going to be in the area for 3 months. My 1, 2and 4 year olds each loved this place. It's entirely hands-on, with exhibits both indoors and out ranging from art and water play (yep, they get messy) to digging in gravel. Spect..."acular views of the GG bridge and bay. The drive down from SF is beautiful, too. I would recommend this over any other thing we have yet to do with the kids here. Can't wait to return!
