"Great history in the building -- but very cool on the inside - shopping - tours - experience food sensory lessons
Worth the time to explore - shop - EAT
....and walk away feeling like your learned something...."
"Pride makes critically acclaimed wines in Napa, actually on the Napa/Sonoma border. It is not a winery for folks that have a modest wine budget or casual palate (you ask for the white or the red wine when you go to a restaurant or bar rather than the varietal and producer). Most Pride wines sell for..." between $50 and $135 per bottle and usually make servious wine nerds like me very, very happy. Our recent tour with Jason was superb. Jason is a Master Sommelier student and an accomplished chef (there are actually two Jason's at Priide), who made the tour very enjoyable. We were happy to taste some wines in barrell, and enjoyed the beautiful grounds and vistas. If you're serious about great wine, building or starting a cellar or wine group, or want to purchase something for a wine geek friend, consider this slightly out of the way, winding road up in the mountains experience when you're in Napa/Sonoma.

"We went to Duckhorn based on a recommendation from a friend. We did not know what to expect however have been to many wineries in Napa Valley. The experience at Duckhorn is a step above any other winery that doesn't require you to make a reservation. You enter the building and start off buy payin..."g for your tasting. Be prepared to shell out about twice as much for this tasting as compared to other Napa wineries. They immediately give you a glass of their first wine and take you to an open table. From there you get a personalized tasting of the rest of their wines (which by the way are excellent) while taking in the sights. Their grounds are in great shape and you can tell their building has a lot of money put into it. Highly recommend!
