Farms
Panama's home of live, bio-active single variety honey. We also have a 200 sq meter butterfly house with over 30 local species of butterflies. Emerge yourself in the pollinators with a half day tour or else just swing buy for honey tastings and butterfly house (open 9-4), shop (open 9-4). We have a unique offering and we want to share it with people who like high quality honey, love nature and want to make a difference by supporting our small business. We are passionate about taste. We can offer honey tastings like no other. More varied than anywhere else in the world that we know of. We produce a vast range of different flavors of honey depending on the floral source. This is unique and only possible because of the enormous biodiversity in Western Panama around Volcan Baru. This small Isthmus has Atlantic and Pacific coasts, 11,000 ft mountains and just about every type of forest and grassland in between. Some of our honeys are rare, some we have in larger quantity. We are serious about health. Our honey and our honey bees are very healthy. We sell raw minimally filtered honey. More than that though, our honey is pure and pristine in ways that are not possible in most of the developed world: 1. Most of our honeys are from wild plants which have no chemical treatment and are utterly pristine 2. Our bees are healthy, we do not need to feed antibiotics or miticides We want to teach people to better understand how to care for our pollinators. We offer a tour on our honey farm in Boquete. We treasure all types of bees and keep on the farm a wide variety of forage for bees, different types of native bees to illustrate how bees and plants are meant to exist together. Our butterfly house is 200 sq meters and is full of fun and activity. Sure to delight all ages.

What a beautiful place. Unfortunately we were not able to see the bees because we didn’t have time but we were able to visit the store which was exceptional. Expect to find any flavor of honey you can think of.

The FWD vehicle left Boquete and drove up the very challenging road in the early AM.
We then climbed up the mountain which was very challenging but we were able to get to the summit a little before Sun up. What a beautiful view as we were above the clouds and were able to see much of Panama and neighboring countries .

Amazing, have to visit place in Boquette. Very kind people, great English. You will get to feed the animals and hear the stories how they got to the shelter.

Incredibly informative. We learnt so much about coffee production today, very friendly tour followed by a coffee tasting - we won’t make our coffee the same way again!!

There is a reason this is the most popular hike in Boquete. Spending several hours hiking to each of the "lost" waterfalls is well worth your time! Although it is only a 2.5 mile out-and-back trail, it is moderate-to-difficult. The mud and slippery rocks make some of the climbs quite challenging, even with the ropes provided for falls 1 and 3. I am 61 and in good shape, but by no means an athlete, and this was the most strenuous hike I have ever done. My husband is 63 and athletic, and he agreed that parts were difficult. The reward is the beautiful cloud forest with splendid views and many birds, and of course, the magnificent falls, each with its unique look. Waterfall 2 is the easiest (and my favorite, aesthetically), but it is worthwhile to see all 3. If you are able to do a moderate/difficult hike, set aside 3-4 hours and do this one slowly--you'll be glad you did!

The trail in the cloudforests is quite interesting. Most of the hike is on a flat path with some creek crossings on small bridges. The trail takes us through a mesmerizing landscape adorned with towering trees and vibrant flora, creating a serene atmosphere. As we venture deeper into the forest, the melodious symphony of birdsong fills the air, captivating our senses.
Although we embarked on this trail independently, recommended by the knowledgeable hotel staff, we couldn't help but feel a twinge of regret for not opting for a guide. We noticed two groups accompanied by guides, and their enthusiasm was palpable as they identified and shared fascinating facts about the diverse bird species surrounding them.
Despite our initial hope for solitude, it became evident that this trail is a popular destination for nature enthusiasts.

This is a farm upon which is grown some marvelous medicinal plants from which salubrious tinctures are made. The hostess, Elizabeth, is great and a font of info. many of the recipes are handed down from the original indigenous tribal Indians. Enjoy some breathtaking views from the Jarmillo side of Boquete.

A young pianist prodigy, 14 year-old David Garcia, captured the hearts and astonished the minds of those who attended his amazing recital at the Biblioteca de Boquete in June 2022. His performance demonstrated his proficiency in interpreting a variety of musical works from around the world - including classics from Shubert, Chopin, and Prokofiev - and also those from composers highlighting Panama, Argentina, and Spain. An amazing and enriching experience!

The beers at this establishment are decent, not exceptional, but the real standout is the ambiance. It exudes a fantastic atmosphere that draws in locals and tourists alike. The fact that many patrons speak English makes it an ideal spot for socializing and meeting new people. However, it's worth noting that the noise level can be quite high, which may hinder meaningful conversations. Moreover, due to its popularity, the place tends to get crowded, resulting in frustratingly slow service.

We had a great couple of hours here. The plants and flowers were beautiful, saw so many birds. The children (10 &7) were kept amused by all the quirky models, statues, freaky faces. The thing they loved most though, was on the second trail, where there is some children's play equipment, including swings with really long ropes. We couldn't drag them off. Add to that some very friendly dogs who walked round some of the route with us, and it was good for all of us. The admission fee wasn't as advertised though, as it said $5 for adults and $3 for under 10s but the children were charged full price. We couldn't be bothered to argue for that amount so just paid up.

On Tuesdays at the BCP, this market is geared toward the growing expat community in Boquete. Sells lots of fresh produce (papayas, kale, carrots) and cooked / baked goods also ( cornmeal cakes, breads, chocolates, goat cheese). Sells used books in English and local artesan crafts (woven cloths, keychains, clothing). Priced more than a market for locals. A social gathering place for the gringos. Worth checking out briefly if you are in town in Tuesday. Pick up a snack here and possibly a souvenir.

13 of us went to Macho De Monte today with our excellent guide Joseph Bonilla from SCAPEPANAMA. Agewise, we were from 50s to mid 70s but in decent physical condition. I was thinking the walk through the water with the canyon walks on each side was going to be similar to “The Narrows” in Zion National Park in Utah. That would’ve been a big NOPE burger! We walked through rocks in both shallow and deep waters and slid down a pretty steep natural rock slide. Ropes were required to get down another steep, pass in the canyon, and then at the end had the choice to rappel, climb a slippery, mossy wall or just jump 20 feet into the water below (I did the latter, which was much easier and time saving!) Then we had to turn around and find a way all the way back to the beginning…which was more difficult as you are climbing tall, wet and slick walls to get back to the starting point.

All of that being said, it was absolutely gorgeous, the canyon walls in the waterfalls in the turquoise water made it all worthwhile.

We had four guides with us, and they were very much needed and appreciated. They had to work very hard to get all of us up and down some treacherous areas. We were also geared up with helmets, life, vests, and rappelling harnesses.

This person is not for the faint hearted nor people afraid of water or heights. You must be in decent physical condition, and I strongly strongly recommend that you go with a company who can guide you safely.
