"These ruins can be seen in the seaside village of Moulay Abdellah. Part of the walls of the old monastery remain and the annual Moussem is held right by them. The Moussem is itself an incredible experience and the village is transformed by thousands of tents stretching along the coast for accommodat..."ion and commerce.
2 ancient minarets remain in good condition, one of which dates from the Almoravid era and is allegedly the only extant example in Morocco.
While in the village a walk could be taken among the seashore and a look around the few small shops and cafes in the centre.

"Just 5 km south of El Jadida is the small resort town of Sidi Bouzid. The beach stretches in an arc along a large bay right up to the cliffs at the southern end which have, unfortunately, had prestige villas built on them. These cliffs used to be wild and wonderful, but no more.

"Charming old Portuguese fort in El Jadida. It is a must if you are visiting El Jadida, or passing down the coast Nice views of the ocean and the beaches north from the top of the old walls. Quite atmospheric, especially the old sea gate. The highlight is the old cistern - a huge arched space that w..."as used to store water. Although the Cite is not worth going out of your way to see, it is a very relaxing place to spend a couple of hours.
