"For a national monument of such importance, I was really let down by the governmental apathy. Photographs getting damaged, walls cracking etc etc.
The Light & Sound Show was totally marred by the sound of some helicopter that hovered above at least 6 times for a duration of 2 minutes each. This is ..."avoidable - but is the government interested??
And my fellow countrymen who are yet to understand the difference between literacy and education: Patriotism does not mean signing our names on national monuments and pictures of national leaders. Actually, Patriotism is more about how much we can avoid these "uncivilized" instincts. Writing a few foul lines about the British only goes to prove that perhaps a majority of this country still needs to learn how to respect their freedom !! ... and the Government sleeps through it all.
What could have been made one of India's best heritage sites, remains below average. One should definitely visit this and experience how costly our freedom was. And ...

"Nice to spend half a day here - feeding the deer and just lazing around amongst the ruins of the erstwhile British Establishments.
Again - a simple route-map with arrows by the Authorities, highlighting the various points of interest would have made this place better."
"This is a nice small beach in Port Blair. If you are staying at Sinclair's Bay Resort, the walk to this place is very refreshing.
Some people who call themselves the "authorities" try to show high handed behaviour here and stop all speed boats etc at 5 PM. I still could not find any official refere..."nce to this 5 PM rule anywhere. Try to be there well before 5 if you plan a speedboatride. Speedboat Ride here is the cheapest (Rs 250-350), while at Havelock etc the same will cost you Rs 600.
