"Visiting Montevideo I felt that the theater was just one of those cultural things one has to see before leaving, and I was right ! The tour was not as tedious as I feared; instead of talking for hours about facts about the construction of the theater they had thrown in a theatrical play that followe..."d the tour. We would enter a room, and the guide would talk for a few minutes, then these local actors came along taking over the show. They were wearing the clothes of the immigrant that came to Uruguay 150 years ago from Italy and other parts of Europe. When we got into the amazing main hall they were enacting some drama between a Spanish speaking immigrant, and an Italian speaking girl. There was singing, dancing and drama, all in the span of 5 minutes.
It made for a more worthwhile tour of this pretty old monument of colonial arts.
It is certainly worth spending 40 pesos on (or 20 if you speak spanish or portugese)

"We chose to enjoy The Wine Experience as our final hurrah after travelling around South America for over 6 months. Ryan was a great host, knowledgeable and entertaining, the first winery we visited was absolutely fantastic, we were guided through the tour and tasting by one of the winery's owners a..."nd tasted some fantastic wines, many of which we took home as well! A real revelation to drink such great wines from Uruguay. Our second winery was also great, with stunning sunset views over the vines. I am looking forward to the chance to do another one of his tours again in the future.
