- Marek_ZGZielona Gora, Poland1,548 contributionsLiberec is not the most important tourist destination, not even in the Czech Republic but its Town Hall is unique. Just judge by the photos enclosed.Written 13 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- All O11 contributionsA wonderful way to see so many plants and flowers from all over the world. The small aquarium is beautiful and all the displays are brilliant. Each section, even though they are small, is packed full of plants and very carefully looked after to fit into their own natural environment. My kids even spotted an egg being cared by for its mummy in the Australian section. Very gorgeous and well worth a few hours there.Written 29 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- huntercarminaMunich, Germany15 contributionsOK. This is a quirky place. But maybe start at the beginning. First of all, you see this thing from afar. it either glistens in the sun from the highway, or it just sits there on top of that hill like a UFO seen from the road leading there. The looks of the place are amazing. The shape is surreal, the surrounding area with the terrace is beautiful.
Once inside, you are confronted with a 70s retro design that starts in the lobby and ends in the rooms. Now, why is it quirky. First, the place is not cheap. If you expect luxury for that, you will be disappointed, at least a little. The elevator is tiny and slow. The rooms are relatively small, and the bathrooms - if you got one included in your room - really show their age. But: The beds are comfortable, the views from the high bed spectacular, and everything in the bathroom is sparkling clean. So, this is not a journey back to 70s communistic dirt. This is a journey back in time, but with style.
Staff is super friendly, and if you do not speak their language, they will try to accommodate you. They even rigged something up so I could charge my electric car. Parking is free when you are a guest of the hotel.
The restaurant looks simple, but stylish and clean and 70s, and once you took a look at the menu, you start to understand that this is more than meets the eye. Food is excellent, be it taste or presentation or quality. Very good selection of desserts, too.
Finally, breakfast - if you are lucky - will take place during sunrise, and it is more than sufficient. There is tea, coffee, different breads, eggs, sausages, jam, honey... it never ends.
Not sure if this is a place to spend like a week. It is more a one night trip, maybe two, but seriously, what a trip that is. This is a must see. It is an architectonic marvel. It is a sight to behold. Spend a night on top of a mountain. Enjoy superior hospitality.... While we found many of the exhibits either empty or under construction, we found others to be highly entertaining. A December visit can especially be risky, but we were lucky to watch the famouse White Tiger up and pacing. A magnificent creature. The red pandas were brought fresh food to eat while we were watching and it was a treat to watch them eat. All told, we enjoyed 3 house in warm December weather walking and viewing God's diverse creation.Written 30 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JustynaWroclaw, Poland1 contributionWe were looking for somewhere to go on a cold and rainy day in Liberec but we were convinced it would be fun just for kids and we were definitely wrong! We spent 3 awesome hours trying various experiments, figuring out puzzles and quizes and getting info about things we wouldn't even think of. Totally recommended!Written 25 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- lealise2018Brussels, Belgium125 contributionsThis was an unforgettable night in a very very James Bondy atmosphere. Furniture and design are coming straight from the futuristic imagination of the 60s. The hotel is small, and each room offers a panoramic view over the nearby countryside. It was just fantastic to have the view and sound of the mountain whispering softly at night ...
Staff of the reception was really lovely and welcoming. Very nice restaurant food with equally lovely service.
Just be aware that the cheaper room do share bathroom and toilets (and this okay, and very clean... this is due to the conception of the building)Written 7 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. First, it is amazing how a former swimming pool has been converted into two large exhibition halls. They also put up interesting exhibits, inform about them on e-mail (if you wish) and take a good care of the place. The guide, however, did not speak good Czech, a pity, and was too 'helpful' - almost dragging us to parts we did not intend to visit. The permanent exhibition is recommended.Written 20 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jeremy CKendal, UK32 contributionsThe museum is only a short walk from the historic centre of Liberec, or an even shorter tram ride.
The well laid out exhibits cover 4 halls and have a good flow.
the car collection has some varied manufacturers from the Czech Republic and Europe as well as the USA. The contrast between the size of the 1950`s US cars and their European equivalents was particularly noticeable.
There is a good tram collection, and a great collection of tram photos from Liberec.

- LaponianSweden74 contributionsIt was 3 floors, but the top one was more or less closed. Playground and a maze for the kids to climb in, on top of all the dinos. Cafe wasnt much so may want to bring your own snacks. Laser game very fun. All except the dinorides was included in price. You had a good deal for a day there. Beware that the dino 3d film was really sad. You see the cub watch the mother been visually eaten...Written 23 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
