What travellers are saying
- A_TAdvisor_MemberBrisbane, Australia58 contributionsTour guides Sandy and Gee (???) were entertaining, engaging, fun, knowledgeable and passionate about their products. Excellent health and safety procedures. The tour was well -paced and very enjoyable. We enjoyed the museum and the talks. None of our party had previously tried Bunderberg rum - one of our party even stating they ‘hate rum’! At the end of the tour and the delicious tasting session - we are all converts.Written 4 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AnnieHobart, Australia13 contributionsSet up in its own newish Museum in the Botanic Gardens with a few other great things to see. Bundaberg shows off their famous pilot- although he was so much more! Interesting set out, very entertaining, with a short video and some great hands on activities. Everyone will love the flying simulators. 👍 Recommend highly.Written 8 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MitziBoyMauritius5 contributionsSpecial Experience to witness. The Rangers are great and share some very interesting facts and some of the work being done at Mon Repos.
We were in Group 2 but got bumped up to group 1 and there were around 50 of us around the hatch site. We were out at 6:20 and were done by 20:30 so a nice early one. Was probably a bit too many of us but we still got see heaps and got a high five from a little hatching.
Seeing them run down the beach to the sea and get swallowed up was very special. Take a torch and you may get to light the path to sea and have the hatchlings run around your feet.Written 3 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We had such a great time, from arriving early to grab a Splitters quick coffee to experiencing farm with farmer Riley.
The tour fees go directly to the health and well-being of their rescue animals which after meeting the farm locals, it’s amazing to see what their efforts are achieving.
The farm and property is well maintained, very neat and tidy and the facilities are immaculate.
I would recommend staying here, and would consider it when we are in the area again next time!! It’s a beautiful relaxing place, don’t miss out! 🐴🐥Written 18 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Visited Fairymead House, the Museum and the Hinkley Hall of Aviation. All of it was great, but these gardens are so beautiful , well maintained, beautiful grass to sit and relax on and just enjoy the serenity of your surroundings.Written 13 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - WingsofSunriseVictoria, Australia167 contributionsAmazing place. Plenty of activities for kids and great ice cream on a hot day. Would certainly recommend calling into this fabulous place.
Service could be a little quicker but compensated for it in the end.Written 24 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We tried the paddle board selection to find our favorites to go with the yummy Everything Pizza. I should also mention we had great service.Written 12 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Celesti EveBrisbane, Australia221 contributionsBeautiful, empty, wide, clean beach with OFF LEASH massive area. People very friendly and aware of other dogs. They will clip dog back on leash if their dog might not be that friendly towards other dogs. Very respectful thing to do. I would come back as often as I can be in that area.Written 6 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Boyd JMaleny, Australia1,688 contributionsA small, well-presented free zoo run by the Bundaberg City Council - one which I reviewed 8 years ago. And it looks like it is very capably run with at least four staff in uniform that I observed and clean, neatly presented enclosures for the animals, reptiles, and birds. The staff were only too willing to interact with visitors and answer questions.Written 21 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Steve J6 contributionsThe small hill gives a good view of the area for miles around. Gives a good perspective of the land use and beautiful coast.Written 22 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- paulen25Brisbane, Australia299 contributionsIntriguing story of the sugar industry and pioneering families in the Bundaberg Region at Fairymead House Museum. Housed in a majestic, grand house which has been relocated from its original site. Includes introduction of mechanisation and cane toads! Informative and interesting displays.Written 13 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
