The Benaki Museum was founded in 1930 by Antonis Benakis and presents the historical and cultural development of the Greek nation. Through its extensive collections that cover several different cultural fields –from the age of Roman domination to the medieval Byzantine period and from the fall of Constantinople to the struggle for Greek independence in 1821- the Benaki Museum is perhaps the sole instance of a complex structure within the broader network of museum foundations in Greece.

"I contacted multiple different companies in my initial search for a guide service. Eleni was one of only two to notify us that the day we had initially planned to be there was a national holiday and that all sites would be closed. For this alone he gets 4 stars. Eleni was able to arrange four dif..."ferent minibuses for our group. All 4 subgroups were managed well. Our daytrips were spectacular. The price was great as compared with the other groups we contacted.

"My friend and I had a great tour with Paul and we were lucky to be the only two on the tour. Paul is such a knowledgeable and interesting guide and we learned so much about modern Greek history from him. I would highly recommend going on this tour."
"We had about 20 people that went on the bike tour in two subgroups. All felt that this was really one of the highest highlights of our day in Athens. It is a great way to get around the city quickly and maximize your time, while really feeling that you are a part of it. Athens is small enough tha..."t the bike tour really worked perfectly for our overview. Manos customized our tour. We based our tour largely off of the Rick Steves walking tour, but thanks to going by bike, we were able to add more and do more than we could have while walking.
