Begun in 1876, this scenic square features a monument called "Weaver," which commemorates the 25th anniversary of Rome as a capital of the state, plus other important structures including the Teatro Adriano and Chiesa Valdese, built in a curious mix of Romanesque-German and Byzantine-nouveau.

"This city is a bustling and busy one and remarkably clean and tidy, particularly in view of the large number of people who bring their dogs shopping with them!
The ancient and the modern rival each other here, with the modern parking areas unable to cope with the demands of the weekends. Go by boat ..."is my advice. You don't need to hire a car for this area - you can get anywhere by boat!

"Easy way to get to Brunate and enjoy some nice views of Como Lake only 5.25e for a round trip. Some (tad more expensive) cafes and restaurants also up the hill. If you happen to get places from the start or end of carts views are nice but it is usually a tad crowded."
"I went to my cousin's wedding where the ceremony was held at the villa. It is the most fabulous setting for a wedding, overlooking lake Como. A day I shall never forget. We were taken there by boat and then walked through the magnificent gardens which are kept immaculate. The ceremony took place b..."etween the library and another room, we also had champagne and aperitifs, it wasn't closed off to the public, but that added to the informality of the day. You can get a taxi boat to the villa or you can walk there from Lenno. I'd recommend arriving by boat.
