  "There is so much to see, a full day is not long enough. Book the behind the scenes 'Discovery Tour' to get the best out of the visit. Our guide was very knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. A lot of controversy about performing animals in Zoos and Seaworld type shows. Here the animals health ..."and welfare does come first. The animals that do perform for the audience are more than happy to show off their wonderful skills in the water on land and in the air. They don't do anything they don't enjoy. The affection shown between the keepers and the animals is a joy to see. Critics mostly ill informed or just plain ignorant have no idea how much research and development goes into places like Loro Parque. If you go and see the Orca whales you will need the water proof clothing on sale in the pool theatre, before the show starts unless you sit well high up in the seating.   "The park, the animals, the shows... all great. I agree with many others. And although already some years old, pretty well maintained (unlike many other locations on the island). Just, do yourself a favor and do not lunch here. The food is disgusting! (And it was not high season yet!)"
