NEVIS RANGE Mountain Experience is in the heart of the Highlands of Scotland, 7 miles north of Fort William. The mountain gondola will transport you to 650m on Aonach Mor where you'll find the Snowgoose restaurant & bar with awesome views, mountain trails, kids play area, and the Mountain discovery Centre (summer only). In the winter, we're open for sledging, skiing and boarding. There's biking for all in Leanachan forest, plus bike wash, bike hire and a skills park. The NEVIS downhill track (with gondola uplift) hosts the Mountian Bike World Cup each year and there's the new red Route opening in summer 2009. We hope you love it as much as we do!

We are a museum set in Cameron Aqure which is just off of the centre of Fort William High Street. We have eight rooms packed with fascinating objects, from treasure from a shipwrecked Spanish Armada galleon to the bagpipes played at Bannockburn in 1314. Whether its archaeology, natural history, warfare and weaponry, highland crofting life, costumes and charms, victorian times, silver, coins and medals, or even the history of mountain rescue, it can all be found at the West Highland Museum.

Enjoy this fantastic cruise under the slopes of Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain, onboard the historic vessel Souters Lass. The Skipper gives an entertaining and informative commentary as the boat cruises past a salmon farm, mussel farm and on to view Black Rock where seals can be seen most of the year. Look out from our deck or warm lounge for porpoise, otters and all kinds of sea birds and red deer.

"If a 12 year old dog and a moo cow can do it, so can you!
Tip is to wear decent shoes as snow at the top can be deep and difficult to descend otherwise.

"This is an above average hike with beautiful scenery all the way up the mountain until you get to the valley that exposes the falls. This is too dangerous for kids. The path is easy to follow but you must choose every step on the rocks to keep from twisting an ankle. The parks department did shape t..."he paths so the they would not wash out. Bring rain gear because it will most likely rain.
In the valley you get a great view of the falls...however to get close you must cross a metal rope bridge...which I do not recommend if its raining or wet.
The falls however are an amazing site to see.

"This may not be the tallest or most difficult of 'mountains' but the effort is most rewarding in reaching the summit. It is a steady uphill walk, with some sections of steps, for the entire 4406ft so be prepared to spend up to six hours for the round trip. You do need to be fit and wear proper boots..."/shoes! the views on the way up are vast and inspiring. However treat this mountain with respect as the weather changes rapidly and those who are unprepared could pay a terrible price. It can change from sunny & warm to sub zero, freezing winds and snow in less than an hour. Luck favours the prepared. The attached photographs show the weather change in merely 30 minutes!
