Be careful....once you've visited the Rex, you will struggle to enjoy film at any other cinema. This place is a just fantastic. Unbelievable comfort, friendliness, variety of films, food and drink, hosted by the entertaining and critically honest James, you feel like you have become part of a club when you watch a film at the Rex. Just don't tell... More

Adore The Rex and watching movies here is a total experience, much better than popping to the local Odeon for overpriced seats and bad service! I love being able to lounge about with a beer while watching my films. The only problem I have is trying to get tickets to the decent releases....but that's only because everyone else knows how... Oh my lordie ! This is the way to go to the pictures and you will absolutely want to go back again and again. Imagine having plush swivel chairs and being seated at table in the stalls area or in comfy seats in the dress circle, a proper bar, civilized audience, sound at the correct level, no ads, great screen... What a wonderful cinema to visit. My wife and I live in Berkhamsted within walking distance of the cinema and we regularly attend matinees as do many of our friends. Really can't fault the place although it is a little annoying how late people are to take their seats, but that is just a very small gripe. More

I have great childhood memories of this cinema and was delighted when it reopened. We have only managed to see a handful of films, however, because the box office staff don't seem to know how to use the phone and only very occasionally bother to answer it. More

Going to see a movie here is a totally different experience to seeing one at your run of the mill multiplex. Decor is charming and film choices are excellent. More
