We took a walk around the mahamaham tank in the evening. The tank is used all throughout by people wanting to take a dip from the heat. The architecture if the tank is breathtaking with small abodes for deities placed every few yards More

The Mahamaham tank in Kumbakonam comes to limelight annually during Masi Magham with thousands of devotees, and once in 12 years as Mahamagham with millions of pilgrims swarming the tank. The large tank in the center of the town. Kept reasonably clean. Visit the Kasi Viswanathar temple nearby. More
