The view can't be beat as you walk through sandy bays and lagoons, past coves and estuaries. « less

THE most amazing place of the South Island, and ont of the top 3 most beautiful places in the world. This thing is heaven. Quiet, beautifull, charming. Take time to connect to nature. And do everything to keep this place as it is. Well done, DOC. We alked just a portion, with 2 six yrs old children and it was... More

We hiked part of the Abel Tasman coast track on a whirlwind trip around New Zealand. If I could book our trip again I would have allocated a lot more time to this beautiful area. We were very lucky and had absolutley beautiful weather (Easter weekend) with 26 degrees C and not a cloud in the sky. Even if the... More

We were able to walk a part of the track as were dropped off by boat at Tonga Beach where a gannet was sitting preening itself oblivious to visitors. Steepish climb and much of the walk is in forested area with peeks through to the sea. Lunch at Bark Bay where there is one of the excellent overnight huts. A... More

A great walk, with good quality tracks, bird songs, and views. We blended in a day's kayaking into our three-day trip and we wouldn't change a thing. More

Lovely track with stunning views, if you're only doing a small part would recommend trying the northern end as southern end can get quite busy. More

Abel Tasman NP is small but packs a lot of challenges in a small area. The coast track is one of NZ iconic walks. The Department of Conservation maintains a series of high quality huts along the track and there are both lodges and privately let shacks that can be used depending on the budget you want to outlay. Using... More

This is the smallest national park in NZ but the most visited. It combines a really well groomed track, great views, golden beaches and a water taxi service that drops off and picks up en route. Plus the best restaurant cafe in the area, in the Park Cafe, at the bottom end and Awaroa Lodge (great location, but change of... More

The water taxi system is fantastic as you can choose the length of walk you want to do and be picked up by boat at the end - they also provide a packed lunch(extra cost). Scenery is stunningly beautiful as is the vegetation. More
