So much to see, so many stories. Aboriginal art is located all over the park, and the views over the wetland from the lookout is breathtaking! More

A lovely walk will take you down to some rock formations where there are hundreds of Aboriginal cave paintings.. Some gorgeous rustic benches will give you a place to sit quietly and reflect or take more pics... A short but fairly moderate walk will see you climbing to the top of Ubirr to view the sunset.. Go early as many... More

I have only been to Ubirr twice in last 6 years. I made sure my mum and dad viewed. It was a memorable attraction for them coming from TeHoro in NZ. The wetlands view and the Rock Art are stunning. I cannot understand why more visitors do not spend 3 to 4 days in the Park. Daily updates are available from... More

We hired a car and drove there one afternoon from Jabiru, an easy drive. The examples of rock art are all clearly marked with explanations of what you are viewing. For the traditional owners the paintings tell the story of their country and their culture. The paintings are at least 2000 years old! If you are fit enough the climb... More

Ubirr has great rock art as well as the best view of the wetlands and escarpment. I am sure that this is where Crocodile Dundee said “This is my backyard”. It is only open from 2pm to sunset in the wet season. There are toilets and, oh blessed relief, a water bubbler that can be used to wet your clothing... More

If you want the best seat (rock) to view the sunset get there early. I would suggest getting there at least an hour before sunset. we arrived shortly before sunset and did not have any time to explore the area before sunset. Be advised that they do have rangers checking for your park permits. More
