A shorter hike that takes you to see something you may never get a chance to see anywhere else is always worth doing in my opinion. The Balancing Rock at the end of this hike truly is a natural wonder. Hard to believe it is still hanging on, and hard to say how much longer it will be there. The... More

The trail is roughly a kilometer or more to get to the stairs, however it doesn't give you this information on the sign board so I'm only guessing. There are 283 stairs I believe the sign read, then 1/4 mile down the wooden stairs to get to the balancing rock and sitting area. There will be a wooden sign that... More

do not expect too much both from the hike and from the view and go to stretch your legs after the drive from Digby or after awesome whale watching.

Balancing Rock was quite a phenomo. How does the Rock stay there through the storms? All I know is God is an awesome God. Absolutely!!

loved it...so beautiful looking out over the bay as well. The spot was a wonderful way to get out of the car and take a quick hike. The old dog found it a little challenging to get back but we loved it.

Did this hike in July 2012. It is a short hike through a woods that is pretty easy. At the end of the hike there are 235 steps down to the balancing rock by the water. If you can't handle steps don't do this hike. The rock is pretty neat. A nice viewing area. The hike back up is somewhat... More
